AIX Racing Shines in Formula 2, Faces Challenges in Formula 3 at Spielberg

This past weekend, the AIX Racing team competed at the famed Red Bull Ring in Spielberg, Austria. Nestled in the Styrian mountains, the Red Bull Ring is known for its picturesque landscape and thrilling, high-speed straights. The circuit’s mix of sharp corners and long straights provides a unique challenge for drivers and teams alike, making it a favorite in the Formula 2 and Formula 3 calendars.

Qualifying Success and Struggles
Friday’s qualifying session brought a mix of emotions for AIX Racing. In Formula 2, our team delivered outstanding results with Paraguayan driver Joshua Dürksen securing an impressive P2, showcasing his speed and skill. Taylor Barnard also performed admirably, earning a solid P6, setting up both drivers for a promising weekend.
However, the Formula 3 session was less favorable. Nikita Bedrin managed to secure P14, a respectable position considering the fierce competition. Unfortunately, Joshua Dufek and Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak struggled to find their rhythm, ending up further down the grid. Despite the challenges, the team remained optimistic for the races ahead.

Mixed Fortunes in the Sprint Race
Saturday’s Sprint Race saw Joshua Dürksen finish in P8, earning a valuable point for the team in Formula 2. Taylor Barnard, despite a strong effort, crossed the line in P12, narrowly missing out on points. The Formula 3 Sprint Race proved tough, with none of our drivers managing to secure points. The team, however, focused on gaining insights and preparing for the main event on Sunday.

A Difficult Feature Race for F3, Triumph in F2
Sunday’s Feature Race was a day to forget for our Formula 3 squad. Both Nikita Bedrin and Joshua Dufek were forced to retire early due to technical issues, while Tasanapol Inthraphuvasak finished in P26, far from the points.
In contrast, our Formula 2 drivers had a stellar performance. Joshua Dürksen finished in P6, with Taylor Barnard close behind in P8. This strong showing added a total of 12 points to our team’s tally, reflecting the hard work and dedication of our drivers and crew.
Despite the ups and downs, the AIX Racing team demonstrated resilience and determination throughout the weekend. We are proud of our achievements in Formula 2 and are committed to learning from our experiences in Formula 3. We look forward to the next race and the opportunity to continue building on our successes.
Thank you to all our fans and supporters for their unwavering support. Together, we push forward to greater heights.
